First off, I want to say this seems like a very helpful community (reason why I registered :P)
Recently I obtained a Silver Doller when packing at my dad's house. I thought I would see how much it sells for since it looked rather old. I did some research and found out its a 1888 Morgan S Dollar. I'm not sure if its real or counterfeit, which I'm hoping someone here can determine. Also, I was reading about coin grading, I understand certain grades will correspond with a certain price range. If you could also grade my coin, given if its real or not, a link to how coin grading works would be great too.
spot ( over 1 ) could be PMD trailing from what ever cut her neck ,,no expert here, (me ),, waiting... ? If you haven't already ? (( negative doesn't mean anything (positive does )) magnet should not stick... and of course
Can't tell much about authenticity without having coin in hand. Nothing in image suggests its not authentic. It is harshly cleaned, however, with XF type details. It's a better date, but the cleaning will limit its value.
