Here is another rare find with my metal detector, a number of years, ago. I didn't realize that I had it until I found it in a bunch of coin finds, a couple of years, ago. Notice the green coating on the coin from being in the ground all of those years. Two years, ago, I dug up an 1872 Indian Head, also, which I may post, later. What kind of grade would this get?

Congratulations on your find! You stated it perfectly "Rare find" WOW! From the pictures I don't see any of the Liberty visible. This Indian Head could grade Good G4. If there are at least 3 letters on Liberty visible then it could go Very Good VG8. A valuable find none the less.

Look at the bright side - it's been so long since bottle caps were common that you could find a rarity among them.

If your experience is anything like mine, you'll also come up with lots of nails and other miscellaneous construction debris.
