perfessor Pillar of the Community United States 927 Posts	Posted 07/09/2011 02:20 am I have been separating pennies for years into 3 categories, pre 1982, 1982, and post 1982. And for the 1982's I separate small dates from large dates. I was finding about 10% are small dates. I have 63 small date 1982p so far. Last night I weighed the small dates only and 36 were copper and 27 were zinc. This is 57% copper. Is this what others have found for the 1982 pennies? Report this Post to the Staff

tlsweet Valued Member United States 111 Posts	Posted 07/09/2011 05:18 am I have 2 of those old milk containers......and had asked husband if he could get this lid off for me a few weeks ago that's painted as I had the same thought. I buy $5.00 worth of penny rolls each pay day along with some rolls of nickels to search through. Then just roll the pennies and nickels I don't want back into more rolls. Changeless Valued Member 273 Posts	Posted 07/09/2011 12:25 pm I saw a picture of a 55 gallon drum full of wheat cents on ebay the other day. I saw a picture of two little kids next to a pile of wheat cents as big as a mattress and a foot deep. Report this Post to the Staff
