Hey all!!

I presently collect 1/2 cents and Large cents but I would like to expand my collecting horizons. I am thinking about getting involved withe the 2 centr's, a nice short group.

I have a lot of reference material for the early coppers, and I was wondering if there was at least one book on 2 cent pieces that would show any obv/rev die match-up, apparent die states and other info.

Pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

I believe he just finished a 2 Cent Reference Guide. I do not think it is listed on his web site yet, but he is advertising it on other message boards. I have never read one of his books so I can not comment on the quality of his guides.

nolawyer is correct. Kevin Flynn's newest book, "The Authoritative Reference On Two Cents Coins" is now available. I can recommend it. It contains most of the material from his earlier Two Cent book "Getting Your Two Cents Worth" as well as much new information. If you have an interest in Two Cent varieties, this is the book for you.

I can also recommend "The Two Cent Piece And Varieties" by Myron M. Kliman. This book will introduce you to identifying obverse and reverse die charachterists and die marriages.

You can read a short introduction to the Two Cent series here: http://www.numissociety.com/content...o-Cent-Piece

I know of four books on the Two Cent Pieces and all of them discuss the die varieties. The Flynn books are probably the best, I just don't know if they are comprehensive or if the only cover the "sexy" varieties.

Thanks for the input. I located Kevin Flynn's website, e-mailed him and will be sending my check off for the soft cover version. I'm not sure if I can post the information on the book as to content, cost and ordering, due to the commercial nature. If anyone would like the information PM me, or if the moderator allows it I'll post it.

By way of example Kevin Flynn's new book lists 26 examples of Repunched Dates, for the year 1864. It is quite detailed, a seperate section deals with Doubled Dies.
