The details seem mushy in some spots, it seems off to me. Plus no return...nope!

sounds a little to good to be true......If it were real why in the heck wouldn't they have someone besides a "third" party grade that thing?

Is it just me or does it look like there are hairlines on this coin? It looks cleaned... And I agree, the Stars are mushy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

That date looks really funny to me, bubbly, and though the style seems close, the location doesn't seem to match genuine examples.

It's self-graded. The name of the seller is Denver Certified Coins and Rolls. The "grading service" is DCC, but they made 2 mistakes! DCC is NOT a TPG that ebay allows, so you can't claim that it's certified, or use any details from the slab in the description. Also, in the description it does say No Returns, but the listing info shows 7 Day Money Back. ebay will hold them to this because they listed it as a condition of this auction. If they refuse to take a return, ebay would rule in favor of the Buyer.

Sadly, they do not say it is certified, just that it is graded by a Third Party Grading service, which is technically correct. But at least they goofed and said the 7 day money back on the ebay section. Hopefully the person who purchases this will get it looked at within 7 days. Mushy, shiney nickel, I almost think they polished whatever piece of metal this was made on with silver polish as well.

Rats. I missed that. But if you read the ebay rules about TPG coins the approved grading companies are: Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) Numismatic Conservation Services (NCS) Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) Independent Coin Graders (ICG) American Numismatic Association Certification Service (ANACS) You can't refer to any details of a coin graded by a TPG other than the ones listed above. They can't say the coin is MS-60 in the description because they are using the grade on the disallowed TPGs information. I was told this when I reported a fake coin in a "home made" slab. I really hope that no one gets hurt in this deal, but it happens all the time on ebay.

ebay has pulled this and several other sales for this seller because of the listing rule violations. I was shocked, but they canceled the sale of the original 1885 Nickel, even though the sale had been completed. Looks like ebay told the buyer they were getting a questionable coin and saved them from wasting $600.
