As I have said on this forum many times, I have the BEST wife in the world.

This morning we were talking about coins, grading, fakes, buying and selling when she said that she's enjoying working with coins so much that she wants to learn more about them. LOTS more.

SO, she has decided work towards the ANA Numismatics Diploma. She wants to understand all aspects of coins and metals and once she has the diploma, wants to see how she can work in the rare coin business.

I'm so proud of her and happy that she's taken to coins in the way she has! She also has an eye for detail that's scary. She sees things that I miss on coins that I know very well, or at least thought I did.

I'm trying to get her to join the CCF and I'll let you if I can get her to register. She's a bit burned out on the whole Social Network thing right now, so she may just hang back and read post even if she does join.

She's already contacted the ANA for details on the correspondence courses and is planning to start as soon as we move to New Jersey.

So what do you think? Did I pick a good one or not?

You most definitely have a keeper!

Remind her that CCF is a different kind of social community. She is welcome to join and lurk, but I suspect she will eventually want to share that vast knowledge she is about to obtain!

I have to say that . Keep us posted as to how this all pans out. It is good to know that a lady is getting interested in coins. Maybe she will help rid us of the "old man" stereotype.

Yes you did.....

Made the mistake of taking my wife to a coin shop. She fell in love with paper money from the area she was from in MI.

I am talking graded money from 1821, 1827, 1834 and so on. She will tolerate me looking at coins as long as she can have her turn at the paper table. Couldn't have asked for a better arrangement. Sounds like we both have keepers.

Amy's first coin show is this weekend, 7/30/11. I don't know what she'll zoom in on, but she has a great eye for coins. She has wants to collect as many world coins from our birth years as she can find. It's a cool idea and I can't wait to see how many she finds. I was born in 1961 and she was born in 1969.
