Found this one last night. It has a clash on the reverse by the stem and a possible double ear. What do you all think about the ear,is it doubled? I checked http://coinsandcanada.com/coins-pri...nt-1937-1952 There is also what looks like a double "5". Comments please, thanks much as always. John1

5 does look doubled. I'd like to see whole coin before I could say more about the ear.

Nice die clashes in ear and center bud. I would think the 5 is just one die variation. Similar clashes are also found on 5 and 50 cent coins.
1965 nickeles have some 5's like that but not all. My opinion.

The 5 is not doubled. The 5's are like that for all coins of the 1950s. For the inner loop of the 5, the raised number rises slightly at an obtuse angle from the field. Doubling of the 1952 date does occur, but you see the doubling on all parts of the 5. You can also find the mortar set variety for 1952.
