and why you might want to buy a new Charlton Catalogue this year, if you have the coin.

Assuming this is the 2012 Charlton, does that mean ICCS will now label the hub doubled 1882 as 1882H C2/C1 DD (is that double die?).

What does the 2012 Charlton call the hub doubled 1881H? The two types, the "heavy punch doubling", and the "doubling around the clock" from the 2011 Charlton are not nice names, as both types of doubling go around the coin.

Just noticed the prices on the 1882H hub doubled...

where does Charlton get these prices? My F15's are worth $900?...your VF30 a cool $1600 ;)...

Consider the prices a reflection of scarcity and desirability. I would not expect them to be bought or sold for such at this point in time. Only the market over the next few years would determine value above regular date and grade, if any.

what would you want to sell your for? I think they are tougher and should be more desireable than 1884 obverse ones. I wouldn't sell mine at this time for under $1000. Let's call that 60% of Charlton. Paid less than $10 for it, but at this time it's highest grade I know of.

Zonad..I bought my F15s for $120 each. Why? Because I can't find any, anywhere. Oddly, no one else wanted them on ebay for more. You saw it too...they were just sitting there

So that's the official Trends and Charlton price.

Would I sell my F15s for less than $1000? Not until I have a dozen of them...but not willing to sell at a certain price means nothing.

If we put your 1882 hub doubled VF30 on ebay starting at $1 and see what it ends at, that will be the market price.

In fact, we can do that for your 1882 hub tripled too

You are the man Zonad, you got a 1882H DD VF30 for $10, a VF20 for $50...I had to pay $120 for a cleaned F12 and VG8...

and after looking at hundreds of 1882s...I have yet to find one unattributed. Or a 1882H triple REGINA...

I must start going to more coin shows ;)
