Would someone do me a huge favor and let me know the composition of the following Greenland coins? Thanks in advance!

1 KRONA (1940)
2 KRONUR (1929)

Are ye sure ye've got Greenland coins? According to Krause, no 1 krone coins were issued in 1940, and no 2 kroner coins at all.

Is that the "correct" spelling, as it appears on the coin? If so, then those coins are likely Iceland, not Greenland.

The Iceland 1 krona 1940 is listed as "aluminium-bronze", the 2 kronur 1929 likewise.

Hmmm... good question. I was assuming they were from Greenland because that's what I was told. They actually say "Island Krona" (1940) and "Island Kronur" (1929). On the other side (not sure which is obverse and which is reverse on these) there is a shield with a cross in the middle and a "Cx" to the left of the shield and a "R" to the right. A crown sits atop the shield. Thanks again for your help!

Yup, that's Iceland. "Island" is "Iceland" in the local language.
