I ONLY went to the local silver shop to unload some spare silver Washingtons, SLH and Franklins, but, I had to wait so I was looking through their overflow bin. and don't you know I ended up with 2 coins, one type I don't own. I got a 1861 Half Dime Id say grades good and a 1956 Washington proof. One question, it is from a TPG I have not heard of, IGS(International Grading Service) which gave it a PF69. To my eye it looks close, what do yall think? I got the Washing for BV and the Half Dime for $8.

For BV, I think you're fine either way.

I think you did fine on this deal. Tough to say what the grade on the proof quarter because there may be hairlines that are just not showing up in the photos.

Awesome! The quarter looks really nice! I don't have enough knowledge to comment on the grading, but it looks nice to me!

Thanks every one! I used my USB microscope on both and although I could not see any hairlines but I did see some raised bumos or pimple like things upon magnification that is not visible to the naked eye or through a loop. Still I think a got a decent deal, but I think the dealer got a better one considering they only paid like $ 28 x FV for my coins and if I wanted to go through the hassle I could have sold them for a few $ more than BV on e-bay.
