to the forum. Quote: A coin shop I frequent is selling it at SGD$15. What is the current market price? Should I buy it? It all depends on the condition of the note. I would check out ebay and see what they are selling for as I have seen some in the $5 USD range, but they are not in uncirculated condition.

I will return to the shop tomorrow to check the Debussy note's year and get back here. Meanwhile, is this Che Guevara note http://www.banknotes.com/cu123.htm in AU-UNC condition worth US$5? Thanks a lot for your input so far, Morgan; it's much appreciated. :)

IT also depends on the date. Pre-1994 French note are extremely expensive, and any XF-AU FRF20s from the early issue (1981-1984) costs around $20.

Returned to the shop this afternoon. The Debussy note is dated 1983 and it is selling for US$13. There are a few creases; some small dirt particles at the edge. And there is also another Debussy note in about the same condition (less creases) dated 1992, selling for US$12. What do you guys think? Should I go for it? (I desperately want to.)
wd1040, what does "FRF20s" mean?

A 1983 20 francs note sold for $6 plus $1.49 for shipping and has creases and some spots. Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/France-1983-20-...em2eb6b76c76. No other ones have sold recently, so I can't compare the prices. There are a couple up for sale on ebay for around $35 with no offers. As for the 1992, one sold for around $4. Here is one in better condition and you can make an offer http://cgi.ebay.com/BANK-FRANCE-20-...em20bba57004, it says its in AU, but you can be the judge of that. I guess it depends on how badly you want them. If you want them now you might want to make an offer on the ones at your local coin shop. If you can wait, you might be able to pick these up for a better price or better condition. For me personally, I like notes in choice uncirculated condition. Hope this helps with your decisions.
