I bought this coin about 10 years ago when I was overseas in the military stationed in Turkey. I have taken it to several dealers and the best answer I could get was "My best guess, 17th Century or earlier, Indian States"... Anyone else here have any ideas?

If that is the correct way up, it could be either Georgian or Western Armenian. A picture of the other side would really help.

It's upside down, and much older. I'm pretty sure it's mediaeval Islamic from around the time of the Crusades, probably either Seljuq Turk or Mamluk Egypt.

Well, I tried to "redo" the post and add the obverse, as well as rotated the picture right side up but a moderator removed it. It will not let me edit the post to add the picture and I cannot add a picture to a response. This is a bit of a joke, and I think I will find another forum to use. If the functionality is not there, there should have been no reason for removing the updated post. I left the last forum I was on after several years due to rediculous moderation as well. Looks like the imbiciles are everywhere...

It's too bad, because there were a lot af knowledgeable individuals here too.

Click on "Reply to Topic", rather than using the quick reply box, and it will let you insert a picture in a response.

Seems like a lot of bombast over nothing when you could have posted the obverse in another post. BTW it's "imbeciles", not "imibiciles", and luckily we have none of either on CCF.
