Any book professing numerology and symbolism is pure quackery to me because the context gets lost. This guy (John) wrote Revelation in prison, so of course his life was coming to an end. Apocalypse is not the end of the world. It is instead the end of the world _AS_WE_KNOW_IT_. I think that what he was warning about was systems of ID and control-like branding in general, told through his wild imagination and experiences of Roman-Greco style control.
