I am shock by the price increase with the 50¢ piece, I don't know what's going on in our numismatic world. Or is PCGS inflating it...  |

I would definitely cross-reference any coin value they list with the grey sheet and ebay if possible. Those two are actual indicators of what people are actually paying. |

Well, an 1884 Half in PCGS MS63 went for $2185 at Heritage last month....that's roughly $1885 bid plus Buyer's Premium, which you can expect the buyers to be considering. On the same day, a 1907-S PCGS AU50 Barber went for $1610.
Looks to me like PCGS is just catching strays up to real-world values, and these numbers are not out of line with real-world sales results.

I agree with Dave. Keeping up a price list as extensive as PCGS's is a lot of work. From Hall's video, it's just him and one other guy trying to keep up with it. Personally, I don't know how they do it and have time to sleep.

I am wondering how one can have an MS55+. Wouldn't that be AU55+?

He means the MS (Mint State) grades start at 60. Anything at 55 would be AU (Almost Uncirculated)

I think the MS is just to designate business strike with PR for proofs.
