it is an upset error. meaning a die has spun and both sides of the coin are no longer at the same angle to each other.

What do you think is the value of this?

It depends on grade etc. I have a number of these that make an almost complete clock face set. Strange it happened mostly to this coin.

Several hundred dollars in unc; down to about $20 in fine. Much higher for upsets at 6 o'clock as they are tough to find and impressive. Upsets at 11 o'clock sre the hardest to find if you are putting together a clockface.

I've heard about people "making a clockface", but never seen the finished product, until now: I'm impressed !

Goldseeker on the abco has created a number of clockfaces. He has also included the rabbits in amongst one of them. I understand that he is short 20 or so from making a 360 degree clockface.

Are you sure 4 o'clock and 5 o'clock are different? They look the same.

Quote: I understand that he is short 20 or so from making a 360 degree clockface. I've seen Goldy claim this a couple of times but given that 1 degree of upset is only about 0.2mm of circumference on a 25mm dollar coin he must have some remarkably accurate measuring equipment to be able to measure that closely. This is made especially more difficult as setting a datum on a worn dollar coin would be very tricky indeed. 'eyeballing' it might seem ok but when you're talking 0.2mm per degree you don't need to be out by much!
