Hi All,

Can anyone tell me, whats the difference between a PCGS green label grade vs a PCGS blue label grade?

I know the green label is their older label, but not sure if the grading is different?

Example... Is a green label $20 gold liberty MS64, the same as a today blue label $20 gold liberty MS64 gold coin?

Thanks.

The OGH (Old Green Holder) slabs are generally graded to higher standards. OGH coins resubmitted sometimes will grade a point or so higher.

Both the old green holder and the even older "Rattlers" were graded a bit stricter back in the day. Most of the coins that were seriously undergraded, and worth a re submission, have been re submitted already. Some coins that might grade a point higher may not be worth sending back in. A 63 common Walker coming back a 64 might not be worth the expense.

Thanks for info, can anyone tell me what date did PCGS start using the Blue Labels? Just curious how long they used the green labels vs. the blue ones.

Thanks!
