Thoughts? Are the DANSCO albums safe? I've always used 2x2 fold and staple holders.

Some of my proof coins have been sitting in a Dansco since 1996, and they still look as good as they did when new. They are completely safe IMO, but it's still critical to take proper care when transferring the coins into the album.

Whitman, Whitman, Whitman, Whitman. Or Dansco if you prefer. Most are completely safe for coins. However, remember that none are air tight. Neither are 2x2's but a lot more so than any Album. Mostly with an Album you can put your coins in order, see both sides easily, have somethin that can be easily put on a shelf as if a book. HHMMMM. I guess a 3 ringed binder with those 20 slot plastic pages do the same. All your preference.

I have been using them for almost 27 years now. No problems, no complaints. Since the albums are not air tight, it is critical to keep them in an environment with stable temperature and low humidity.

If your planning on a really long term for your coins, I suggest that regardless of what brand Album you choose, place them in a Zip Lock plastic bag when storing. Short periods of time are OK but for long terms I'd really use a plastic bag over them.

My take is Dansco is the more "higher end" album-you get what you pay for. Whitman albums are good and cost a tad less than Dansco. However Dansco also has a more professional look to them. So again, your preference, and you get what you pay for.

If you check into Albums you would find they are made by Dansco, Whitman, Littleton, Intercept Shield, US World of Coins, Harris and many, many more. One thing to remember is to buy a Dansco because the look better makes little CENTS. Almost everyone hides coin Albums anyway. To put a coin Album in bookcase out in the open is rather risky today. Most here usually agree that Dansco today is one of the best made ones though.

Ok so I am looking on the DANSCO website but I don't see a Washington quarter album just for the clad's 1965-1998. Does that even exist? Maybe I could get the plain album with no dates but thats no fun...lol

If you didn't want to mess with blanks, just take out the pates you don't like on a standard Album.

You will have to get a plain quarter album. I used one when I first started since I only collected the clad quarters. I eventually got the 1932-date album (with proofs) after I expanded my collecting.
