When I was at the craft store getting some school supplies for my son I saw this child's microscope. It claims 20x-40x with its own I internal LED light. The base of it is clear for use of other lights as well. For the cost of $13 I must admit I am very impressed. This little "toy" does a great job for inspecting coins for errors. It is very light weight and it's focus is totally adjustable so you can even inspect coins in flips or books. It can be just hand held without it's base. I would highly recommend this little device to anyone wanting to inspect coins at home or especially when at shows or flea markets. Sorry if I am just reinventing the wheel here if the forum already knows about this little gem, but I was just so impressed I just had to talk about it. The device is only 3 inches by 2 inches and an inch thick. The child in the picture makes it look a lot bigger than it really is.

For that price you really have nothing to loose. Even if you don't use it for coins, your kid can use it for school.

I have one very similar, but it's a bit smaller and about half the price. It is fantastic for looking at coins!
