Okay...since I am a total newb to collecting US coins, I have a question. I have come across two 1943 cents, which appears to be zinc / nickle or the like. I am going to assume that this has to do with the war, but what is the material? One is a "D" and the other is an "S"...Denver and San Fran?

My apologies for the question, but my Red Book has not arrived yet..
