Found this coin on the Western side of Germany. It is about the diameter of a US quarter but it is paper thin. It almost does not even seem like a coin because it is so thin but I have never come across a coin this old either. Anybody know what type of coin it is and the composition? Thanks for looking!

France, 1693, Billon 15 Deniers. Looks like an 'N'(Montpellier) mintmark.

I agree with DCH.
I have not seen four Fleur-de-lis on cross with crowns.

That is a pretty incredible find. Did you purchase it or actually find it?

Thanks for the identification DCH & Nikola! I appreciate you taking the time to help the amateur out.

Believe it or not this coin was found metal detecting! Pretty good shape for being in the ground over 300 years wouldn't you say?
