A coin from last week's show. It's a pretty common coin--I like how it photographed--interesting color / planchet streaks.

Finland-1922-Markka
Judging by the mintmark (heart) below the sword, it was minted in Copenhagen.

Nice picture. Interesting to note that a heart mintmark means minted in Copenhagen?

You have a nice coin there DVCollector!

hopping_rabbit - they were very busy with the new type copper coins in Mint of Finland that time, so they decided to order all the nickel coins abroad 1921-1922. The first lot came from Birmingham, England (mintmark H=Heaton) and the rest from Copenhagen with those heart mintmarks. Mintmark H means Heatons family who owned "The Mint" (yes, that's companys name) company that time.

Thanks for the information Eurocoin.
Are any of these particular mint types scarce or more valuable?

Thanks hopping_rabbit and Eurocoin! It's interesting how this is the only Finland coin minted in Copenhagen.
That makes this common coin more distinctive. Still, I wish it was the scarcer 1923.
I have many early copper coins--I will post more pictures soon.
