Oooh. Toughie. I like grading your Seated stuff - it's not an easy design to grade. I took the liberty of importing and massaging your pics in Photoshop to improve my chances a little:

1866-Sl-Half

1866-Sl-Half

I can't decide if I see rub or not. I think not. Knowing that these are graded rather tightly, I'm thinking MS62-63.

Is that something I see peeking up from the denticles below the second 6?

No, nothing on the actual coin at the 6 above the denticles. I see in the photo, but nothing on the coin.

does it have any cartwheel . Some people can capture it on a camera I however can not. The only skeptical comment is the gum metal grey color The device's are very sharp though Like I said Photo's are hard to grade

Not really any cartwheel, but I haven't seen any unc halves of this age that really have what I call a Morgan type cartwheel. Maybe just my exposure to this series, but I believe it has to do with the older minting processes.

I see no wear on any of the features of the wings or breast, or anywhere. There is some roughness in the surface to the right of Liberty that looks like abrasion or something. I am also wondering at the shiny silver surface on an old seated liberty. Most of the BU examples of these I have seen, almost all slabbed, have some discoloration, toning or tarnish. MS 65 based on wear, but it may have been cleaned, perhaps dipped chemically? But than I am a suspicious old cuss.

This coin was never slabbed fortunately. As I am a now liberated coin collector I don't forsee submitting it.

You guys are very good on noticing some of the "characteristics" of the coin.

Yeah... I just have seen a ton of these and there are so few that really have any true cartwheel. One thing I do see a lot is some frosting in the crevices of the devices. Almost a powder and you have to look closely. But true cartwheel luster is rare in my experience. Actually most of these UNC halves are almost steel grey in photographs. I have to say that this particular half is much better in person than on your screens.
