There was an earlier submission on this coin about the toning. My local coin dealer who sent it off to NGC along with others just emailed me the results. Here's the coin - let's see how you stack up against NGC:

Yeah 64/70, I guessing PL stands for Proof Like? If so that makes sense because the coin sure looks proof like to me.

I should be so lucky. This beauty is coming back in a Body Bag because NGC says it has an "altered surface". It does have beautiful toning, but evidently our "Master Graders" had concerns. If you're around SuperDave - guess my earlier concern was warranted after all. I will probably send it to another TPG for a second opinion. This coin is too striking to suffer such an ignoble fate. My opinion stands, especially knowing the coin came from one of the best judges of horseflesh posting at Coin Community. NGC wimped out.
