Apollo Pillar of the Community Canada 1610 Posts	Posted 09/04/2011 10:41 am Okay lets take this as an example: You have two coins of the same grade, one graded MS65 by a professional dealer and one graded the same by lets say PCGS and you sell both on ebay. I think the answer based on my experience is that some collectors prefer particular TPG graders over another, so it really depends on the purchasers opinion and the reputation of the TPG. SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 09/04/2011 6:48 pm As regards US coins, a TPG-graded coin will almost always bring a better price than a raw one. The TPG system is so entrenched that a buyer will be immediately suspicious of a raw coin whose value indicates it "should" be in a slab. Of the TPG's, PCGS enjoys a measurable price advantage over the others in most cases. This is all less-relevant for Canadian and other World coins; the US TPG's aren't particularly great with them. It's prohibitively expensive to have true expertise on-staff for each nation's issues. Report this Post to the Staff
