While checking "auction prices realized" for some 5-oz ATBs on PCGS, I saw several coins graded as BU89. I know that BU stands for Brilliant Uncirculated but I'm not familiar with the designation of 89 to go with it. Some of these BU89s even sold for higher prices than the same coin graded MS69. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

I would think it is a no grade code. 89 does not appear on their official code list but I would guess it probably indicates a coin that did not meet a minimum grade request on a bulk submission.
