I'm interested in purchasing coin by bulk/rolls. Any suggestions as to sources would be appreciated.

Hi Stew,

I'm not sure of what particular coins your interested in. I still pick up rolls of cents/nickels/dimes at my local bank and come across some interesting finds from time to time. We also have a local coin dealer that sells Wheat cents by the bag. He charges a nickel apiece, so a bag of 100 Wheat cents is $5. Pricey, but he has to make a living too, I guess.

I took the grandsons there and for $10 ($5 each), they managed to fill a lot of holes in their coin albums. Grandpa bought back their leftovers!

The ads in the coin magazines for bulk coins and rolls of coins look interesting, but I haven't tried them.

Good luck with your collecting!

By the way, don't believe the ebay auctions for "unsearched" rolls. They have always been searched and it is common for them to put the best coins on the ends so you think the whole roll will be filled with valuable coins instead of (in the case of cents) a bunch of late date wheats and even some memorials.
