I was bank roll hunting and came across this dime, it appears to have a visible line running through the date.

either two dimes jammed together, or some kind of counter damage or other tool.

If there is an identical line on reverse, then it could be an "Incomplete Punch"(page 50 from "Error Coins from A-Z", by Margolis

I would have thought that damage would have continued on to the rim. Also what's up with the design weakness left of Liberty. It looks like a Blakesley effect but I can't picture why that would happen.
