My bible for grading circulated type coins is Photograde. I am still using my old 1979, dog earred copy. I picked up the latest edition at my Coin Store and looked at it. It didn't seem like much has changed. The photos looked similiar. Any advantage that anyone knows about in using the new edition and any other comments on using Photograde to grade raw, circulated coins? Thanks.

This is the same book that was recommended to me in a different post. Seems to be a pretty good "bible" according to the folks here. I can't comment on the difference of your edition compared to the new one.

IIRC, the most recent one or two editions are not recommended, as they represent relaxed grading standards. I'm only relating what I've heard on this board (I think from forum mom). Stay with older editions was the advice.
