That's a very nice looking quarter. I'll venture a guess with a modest MS 63?

The coin does not seem to have many marks. I will guess MS-64.

MS-63+++, might crack MS-64. Depends on how bright the luster is.

The wheel marks on the date and LIBERTY would limit it to MS64. Without those marks, you would probably be looking at an MS66 gem. The 1940D is one of the tougher Washingtons in MS grades and I would be proud to have that one in my Washington album(I currently have an AU58 in that hole).
Rest in Peace

Yeah, MS-64 taking into account the wheel marks. This would be 66 without them, easy.
