I bought a 1885O Morgan NGC MS64 online and received the coin and noticed that the coin was an 1884O instead of a 1885O. My first thoughts were that I was taken and that the NGC slab was counterfeited. I logged in to NGC website and noticed that their database had a picture of the coin with the wrong date. Also to my surprise the 1884o has a DD reverse on the following; mint mark 0, in god we trust, stars and DOLLAR. Does this error increase the value? Would the DD be worth more if I get it regraded or do I send it to be relabeled? Please advice. Thanks

NGC will be the first to admit that this sort of thing does happen. There may be someone out there willing to pay a premium for this type of third party grader error.

The doubling could be a number of VAMs, and is probably not going to lift the value wether or not it is denoted on a TPG slab.
