Hey guys I have this coin that I can't identify , and I'm not sure but since I live in Lebanon (modern phoenician land) could it be a phoenician coin ? How old do you think it could be ? thanks
Nope. The standing figure is Jesus, and the reverse inscription are abbreviations of his titles: IC XC NIKA, Jesus Christ Victorious. It's a Byzantine Empire copper follis, "anonymous" type, class C, dating from the time of emperor Michael IV, 1034-1041 AD. The second coin in this thread is the same type.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
