My washing machine has been OOS for the last week or so. The pump wouldn't drain. Called Maytag and the 30th was the first day he could make it. So behind the washer I went last night.

After taking the back of the washer off, I whacked the pump and it started working. But, you could occasionaly hear what was obviously a coin hitting the impeller. So apart comes the pump.

Plunk, out comes a 2005P dime. This sucker is shiney black purple and blue. Its awesome. Unfortunately, I cant get a pic that looks anything but black.

So this hobby almost killed my washing machine! LOL

And would this be a case of purposeful toning or accidental?
Rest in Peace
