I was just wondering if all of these banks issued their own national currency? If they did, I am interested in finding a Waynesboro, MS note and maybe a few others.

Thanks

That is a very good question and one I would like to know the answer to as well. National banks had a charter number but I don't know if they all issued currency. The ones that did had to deposit bonds in exchange for currency. "National Currency Secured by United States Bonds Deposited with the Treasurer of the United States of America"

And even if they did issue currency some smaller bank's notes are so rare they are worth more than I can afford to spend to buy them. Obviously the more common the note (large banks from large cities) the less expensive to purchase.
Rest in Peace
