Last time I did not get a special coin. https://goccf.com/t/82772
This time I got a real 1948 closed 9 for a bargain on ebay.

A rare variety seldom offered and quite expensive.

Nice find, but it's not particularly rare and can be found for sale pretty much anytime you feel like finding one.
In this condition they sell for around $50 in a retail situation in Europe. Auction prices are lower, especially outside of Europe. The scratch on the obverse also hurts the value.
The 1948-B is the more scarce one.

True, but it's for the fun of finding it without being mentioned.
Here's the picture that was on ebay.

True again, especially for the closed 9 version.

I've just checked a couple of online traders like cgb but did not find any.

Definitely an exciting find among the typical run-of-the mill ebay lots. I searched on ebay, including international sellers and found a few of them from French sellers at the price range I mentioned. I would agree they are seldom seen here in the US though.

It sure is a good deal you got! I got one for 3 times this price on an ebay auction.

I guess I need to keep hunting for better deals for such coins. I believe this coin is seldom offered on ebay & I would like to have one like this.
Nice find.
