Please help grade this 1917 buffalo, also what could that be on the coin and thanks.

That thing on the coin could be a variety of things, but a bit of acetone might clean it up (not 100% sure about using it for something like this though since vinegar may be better for cleaning it, but not for a nice end result). As for grade, I'll be nice and give it G-6/VG-8.

I think it could be Fine details based on the reverse. The Obverse is always a tough one for me to grade.

Very nice detail on the Buffalo including nearly a full horn. I will say VF-35 to EF-40

I'd go with VF details - looks corroded.

Absolutely do NOT "clean" it with vinegar. Vinegar contains an acid - it does not clean, it damages.

Looks VF to me. VG is much to low with that kind of horn detail.
