Can anyone help me with this one? It looks like a nicely struck coin (i.e., not hammered), but I am having trouble sorting out the scripts, in fact I may even have the coin images in the wrong orientation. I do believe it is genuine, I analyzed it on the XRF at work and it is 94.78% silver and 4.55% copper. I would like to know what this coin is, the rough date/age and an estimated value. Thanks in advance.

It's not ancient. It is what's left of a Spanish "cob", after much of the edge has been filed away and made round - presumably to fit into some kind of "pirate" piece of jewellery. The top pic (rotate it 90 degrees anticlockwise) has the central bits of the Spanish coat of arms, while the bottom pic (upside-down) has the lions-and-castles in the quarters of a cross.

That was the head start I needed to research this coin! It looks like part of Phillip II Two Reales coin. Your help with this item was greatly appreciated!
