Can someone checkout ebay auction number 260867194494 It's a 1921 nickel, but it just does not look right. Are there known counterfeits of the 1921 nickel?

Yes there are fake 1921 nickels, check out MM's counterfeit coins on the RCMP site.
Listings like this that do not show both sides of a coin "Especially" a rare 1921 5 cent I would be suspect of and stay away from...

The 1921 nickels on that site dont resemble the ebay nickel. The 9 is very different. Guess that answers my question though.. there are clearly fakes out there.

There are hundreds of fake 1921 five cent pieces floating about in Canada. Be careful. And be careful with any EF plus Victorian, Edward or George V silver coin. The key date fakes especially are very much alive across the country.

Well the newly added obverse pic looks good, but it does not seem to be of the same coin. The wear on the original reverse pic simply does not match up with the condition of the new obverse pic.

I agree with the majority of you that think that this coin is fake. There are probably thousands of fakes floating around out there of this key date. If you are seriously interested, I would contact the seller for better photos, and ask if he/she would be willing to send it in for certification. If not, then STAY AWAY. It is not worth risking thousands of dollars on a chance that it could be real.

He's lifted the photos using google, the coin he shows he doesn't own. He's probably Googling right now for better photos,in case someone should request them. SCAM.

The coin pictured is not fake. The seller is trying to auction the digital image of someone else's coin... unless you like throwing away money, do not bid on this coin.
