I dont know, now that I seen it as been improperly cleaned. Over a thousand might be a little steep.

Auld, you're more perceptive than me, I didn't pick up on either problem. How can you tell that the piece has been improperly cleaned? Please tell me about the graffiti too. This explains the discounted price. I guess I was just taken by the TPG slab and the date. I don't own any 18th pieces yet, one day I'll take the plunge! Thanks. TS

The slab is from NCS- Numismatic Conservation Services (owned by NGC) coins will have a problem of some sort listed on the label. Of course, the seller only has one pic out of five showing the full label so it could easily be overlooked.

Thanks Bryan, I didn't even see that. I don't know why, but for some reason the print keeps getting smaller on my screen.

Would you have been able to tell that it was cleaned without the description on the holder? After you pointed it out, I noticed the coin doesn't seem to have either its original mint luster or the tarnish and dirt that you would expect to see in a silver coin that had circulated.
