Hello, I have just recently obtained a coin that I found to be rather unusual. I recently bought a lot of foreign coins, and when I pulled out this 1948 1 franc coin something was off about it. I know these coins usually have the inscription Republique Francaise on the front of it in somewhat large lettering, but this one was different. It had Republique Francaise Union Francaise on the front of it in very tiny lettering. I was told by a numismatic friend that it could possibly be a production error.
UPDATE: These are not my pics but the coin looks exactly identical to it, condition and all. Also I have provided an
ebay Link with one that has the "normal" front.
