1968 Dime Gold Colored In Package - Coin Community Forum

John Bonzo Valued Member United States 123 Posts	Posted 10/09/2011 5:47 pm I have a 1968 gold colored dime in sealed plastic. I am not certain, but I believe that this was in with some coins that my grandfather gave me when I was a kid, which is why I am curious about it. I know that the coin was dipped or experimented upon, but does anyone have any idea or thoughts as to why/how it is in the sealed plastic? It is a very soft plastic (much different than uncirculated coins came in from the mint). It seems like someone went to some trouble to make this look special.
