Cool, Captain! Yours looks like it was made from the same person that made Sidekicks! I wonder if there are more in this set?

The "6" over the L in LIBERTY is just damage.

I assume some sort of tourist-trap place somewhere had a machine that makes them sorta like elongated penny machines, or a NASA museum, or Cape Canaveral or something. I've tried to research them, but without finding out much.

There used to be a Gumball Machine where I grew up that had various themed counterstamped cents in it. The themes would cha ge from time to time. What a racket though....nickel in, penny out. Wish I thought of it :-)

The unidentified mark above the L in LIBERTY, I'm fairly certain is there to give balance to the counter stamp die during the strike.

It's just man-made P.M.D. (post mint damage) for a lot of folks.
Others do collect these counter-stamps as a novelty kind of thing....that's just "neat".
I don't avidly collect them.......or "seek" them out.
But as I Cent roll search over the years, I've come across a nice half a dozen or so. And I always keep every single one.
I've found "counter-stamps" on Kennedy halves too......while "Silver huntin'".

I'm still waiting to find a Mason symbol on a Lincoln ! Those seem to be everywhere except "my" coin table ! .......

I thought someone once posted that a complete series of post mint stamped coins were made and put in a frame. Not sure what was on those. Not sure if other Zoos do this but at Brookfield Zoo in Illinois, they have many machines that you put a Cent in and for $0.50 it makes it into an animal thing on the coins.
