Misleading auctions like this only do harm to the error and variety coin community. It may sound like a joke, but in reality it is just another ploy to take money from the unknowing and undereducated coin collectors who dabble in error and variety coins and that is nothing but wrong.

No matter what fancy names that you apply to this piece of metal, it is nothing more than post production damage and not worth a cent.

Maybe I am wrong but I didn't think the mint sold rolls of dimes to anyone let alone the general public. Soooo wouldn't this fall under false advertising?

A "SNAIL ERROR" ? I suppose one has to be a "slow" person to bid on it. There is 4 bids as I post and it will cost the winner over $13.00 at this point to get it severely.

You're not wrong, the mint has never sold rolls of dimes.

And what is a ballistic roll? A roll that contains one tone of dimes? (That being roughly the weight of a Ballistic Bag.)

I thought it was a smashed bottle cap until I read that it had a 'think' rim. LOL

I'm going to go home take a hand full of change and place them on my driveway and then run over them multiple times. I'll make a fortune!

It looks more to me like an even rarer I-95 "sidewalk" dime to me.

He then offered to buy the coin for $40, This is the same person that wanted to buy my 5 Seated Liberty dollars for $10 each, So I figured I would try my luck on ebay.

What if this guy is a newbie with genuine intentions and is trying to start a newly established error category?

And by some fluke of nature this coin turns out to worth a bunch.

Would anyone then feel that twinge in their stomach from from the greed/fear emotional roll-a-coaster after missing out on a great deal...?
