I hope when they get older, they don't try to sell "our" collection

Hey, don't forget to check some of those for varieties also - like D/S mint marks. Kids have fun doing this also.

Congrats you got a good one, and a way to spend quality time with the young uns. my LCS calls me up to tell me that my ASE anniversary sets are not worth anything but I should sell them to him. Two times he has called, I won't even talk numbers, what a shyster. The other coin shop, I'll stop inquire about something or another, stop back in a day or two to buy item, and the price has been raised, just on the items I'm interested in. Not to complain, I know everyone wants to make a buck, just get tired of people playing stupid all the time.

That's a great dealer. I'd like to buy older Jefferson nickels at face value without all the hassle from searching through bank rolls.

If possible, I have undersold what I had. I went back yesterday and bought the rest. $44 more of face for a total of $113 face-value. Here's what I got: 38P -- 22 38D- 0 38S- 1 39P- 73 39D -2 39S- 3 40P- 109 40D - 25 40S - 29 41P - 73 41D-23 41S-29 42P-31 42D-10 42S-0 43P-3 43D-0 43S-0 44P-0 44D-0 44S-0 45P-3 45D-0 45S-0 46P-75 46D-14 46S-10 47P-41 47D-19 47S-14 48P-62 48D-20 48S-8 49P-32 49D-15 49S-9 50P-12 50D-0 50S-0 51P-22 51D-17 51S-5 52P-52 52D-12 52S-11 53P-40 53D-35 53S-14 54P-38 54D-50 54S-22 55P-16 55D-44 56P-22 56D-32 57P-28 57D-75 58P-14 58D-72 59P-27 59D-84 Buff (no date) -- 2 V nickel (no date) -- 1 4 rolls BU 60's As you can see, this was almost like stealing. I brought the 38s and the 39D&S's back, but he told me to keep them. He said whatever I find is mine. For those who care it was 2,260 nickels total with 1,662 keepers. That means I'm only turning $29.90 back into the bank. Pretty awesome! The late 50s confused me, as I got many more Ds than Ps. Weird, but welcomed.

SJUHawks, If your still willing to pass some along I think there are 21 on your list I need. 38ps 39ds 40ds 46ds 47d 48s 49ds 50p 51s 52s 53s 54ps 55p 56p 59p
Would be happy to make it worth your while since it's only a dollar five in actual money and you only stated you would pass along the 40's and 50's. I think without the 30's it's 17 coins. Either way congrats on a good deal.

I've only had two requests for hole fillers at face. Let me know if there are any others. I feel the need to pay this forward.

SJUHAWKS ... great story .. thanks for sharing .. I like how you involve your kids with coin collecting .. I do the same with my grandkids ... aside from the coin collecting, it is an opportunity to spend quality time with our little ones.
