Design covers the whole coin reverse in vibrant colours painted over an engraved surface!

You know I did not like the "Two Loons" design at first but it started to grow on me. At first I thought it was just a painted coin but its paint over engraving. This is going to be an amazing coin when you get to see the real thing. Ordered 3 more, 8 total. I can't believe they neglected to put a limit on this coin.

from RCM's photo, I don't see anywhere on the loon coin that shows 1 dollar

It says "Canada Dollar" on the top of the obverse.

One thing I noticed on the Lucky Loonie is that they show the outer sleeve of the 2 loon as part of the packaging.

The top of the obverse says "Canada Dollar"

I'm still torn about whether I should get one!

I would not get one, I would get two or three.

I'm not considering the 38mm 'Two Loons' dollar as part of the standard commemorative silver dollar series that began in 1935

I expect it has something to do with the weight. Its spec looks more like a Maple Leaf (38mm and 1 toz)

I didn't pay attention to the obverse side, thought just her name. so this is the first canada dollar with 38 mm size and 1oz pure silver(actually I like pure silver part, no tax).

I ordered 1 as usual

Every time I read about this coin, I buy another. I've ordered one each day this week....

So the Glass Bee, with the same 10k mintage, was first marked as sold out by the Mint in the afternoon of the Thursday after issue to Masters Club. (Note that it came back up for sale briefly the next week).

Today is the Thursday after the Two Loon's issue to MC; so should we expect it to be sold out today?

My guess is that it will survive the long weekend and sell out early on the first day of general release.

Don't forget the glass bee had a purchase limit, this coin is unlimited. Wonder it that will make a difference?

Dcadon mentioned that the 5oz is already 50% sold out, any takers here? I'm not too sure what to make of it..

Too rich for my blood. I'm sure some of the other low mintage, high-end coins are nearing sellout too - dealers and a-list collectors usually ensure sell-outs on that type of coin.

Not forgotten. But the GB was the second issue of an extremely popular series. The Ladybug was a record sell-out and virtually guaranteed at least 5000 collectors who would clamour for the second in the series. That should balance out the no limit on the Two Loon.

Still, as you pointed out, it only takes a small percentage of MC members ordering multiple coins to sell-out 10k. Especially when we consider that dealer allocations would likely be 25-30% of the 10k.

will it be prettier if RCM uses different finish instead of color on the two loon coin? black area is proof finish, white area is reverse proof(like the f15 maple leaf), grey area use satin finish, green area can be brushed bullion finish, red area = gold gilded
