The cost is so inconsequential that I'm not even going to worry about returning them. I'm just chocking this up to one of life's lessons, and moving on. I just thought all of you would get a chuckle out of it at least. It's was worth the comedic value if nothing else.

You could give them a quick dip in acetone and then put them in 2x2's.

*Facepalm*

...

Scary thing is that it reminds me of what *I* did in my earliest collecting days as a wee lad of 5.

I did really enjoy the classy lined paper they were attached too that probably was ripped out of a notebook

I am sorry I laughed at this, but I have to say that I have encountered this on several occasions. When I get coins packed this way, they go straight into an Acetone bath.

Thanks John, and Tim, and Browne. Good idea. I'll have to give them a dip in acetone to remove any adhesive residue.

I've had coins shipped like this to me as well. I had a seller ship a whole roll of silver quarters to me this way. Fortunately the coins were just junk silver, but I still gave them an acetone bath. It takes the adhesive right off.

I can see why someone might think thats a good idea for a coin or two. But why in the world would someone do that to a whole roll?

Of the 80+ coins I have bought on ebay I have never seen anything that dumb with the shipping. I have had sellers tape the 2x2 to the envelope or papers. Those holders needed to be replaced.

Yikes. I bought some rolls of silver dimes a few years back on the ebay. The woman shipped them wrapped in some scented tissue paper, some taped together, and just overall poorly packed. She had other numismatic items for sale so I sent her a polite email on the proper way to pack and ship them and advised her not to use scented tissue paper. She was selling items she inherited so really didn't know the protocol, but was very appreciative of the suggestions I gave her. Maybe a nice email will help out the seller for future sales?

Thanks CoinHunter. I actually did that already. I suggested that he up the cost by a quarter or so and put them in 2x2s. That way people will be much happier with their product. Although now that I look back at the email I don't think it could exactly be classified as "nice."
