Keep them all! I have seen consecutive bills like that go for 3x face in live auctions.

Quote: TJ, what is the year? They are 2009s, with Rios-Geithner signatures, printed in September of 2011 (according to http://www.uspapermoney.info ).

TJ...if you need chcu notes for your collection then keep them, else they are spenders. Tim StroudQuote: I have seen consecutive bills like that go for 3x face in live auctions. I can supply the notes (ChCU pack fresh in sequence) to you at a buck fifty ($1500) for 1000 notes per pop...what do you say? Thanks

I did come across 3 consecutive star notes the other day (2006 series) that were from a print run of 512k and I did save those because they were from a low print run, not because they were consecutive, although that does add to the appeal. Value is (aside from condition) based on rarity. To say that consecutive notes are worth multiple times face value doesn't make much sense. ALL notes are consecutively numbered so therefore ALL notes would be worth multiple times face value and people that get them by walking into a bank and placing a currency order (for face value) could do what Ceylon said... retire in a NY minute if that were the case. Now don't get me wrong, I HAVE sold $2 notes for more than face value that had nothing more going for them than being consecutive and uncirculated. Those people think that $2 notes are rare and aren't still being printed (as needed) so they are willing to pay more than face. They don't realize that all they have to do is go to a bank and buy them. But even so I'm probably not going to make a good living trying to do so on a regular basis with a series and denomination that is a dime a dozen, like 2006 $1 notes. You see people on ebay for example selling straps of current series notes for more than face value, praying on the naivety of their fellow man. But take those same notes to a dealer and prepare for a wake up call. There are people who sell runs of older harder to find series (like from the 60's) for a premium. I have gone to shows and purchased quantity of series 1963 for over face and turned them for a profit because consecutive uncirculated 1963 series are not so common anymore. In the end value is what someone is willing to give you for something. It is good to arm yourself with knowledge so it isn't you getting duped. The latest trend on this forum has been to glorify common notes (words like trinary come to mind). The danger of that is if there aren't people who tell you otherwise you may be tempted to part with your hard earned money for something that is so common it actually has no value. Ceylon and myself (and a few others) are just trying to be the voice of reason. Our advice is face value

If you collect currency, keep one for your set. If you intend to keep these for an investment, I wouldn't as inflation will eat up any value you expect to make.
