The better way to ask the question might be....Would you like 40 bucks or a C note, lol?

I want to find one of these in a AU-58 state or better. And who knows, I am in a spot where I see some cool coins come down the pike once or twice a week....

The Morgan hands down. Even a circulated, common date Morgan over an ASE.

Your 1892-S is a better date Morgan. It has VF details and is worth $50 even if it has problems.

Hard to believe anyone would opt for the ASE over that Morgan. I think another poll should be, "How many folks collect Morgans". Some might always take bullion over another coin to collect.

In the question he stated those images as an example, I'm not sure if he meant that coin exactly or if you were to buy 50 which would you pick. Based on the images yes I would pick the Morgan but other then that I would get ASE.

I was just making the point, that with old numismatic coins it is always key to look close as the value could be VASTLY different depending on the coin, condition, and rarity of course. Could be real hard for a novice to spot, like a A an M gap or die crack eh, amongst many other old coins....

Seen on ebay that Morgan WITH BIDS had a few up for over $50 earlier today. Some were asking $100-$200+!

But I would still prefer an ASE......

I'll go with the ASE over a low grade Morgan, even a 92-S.

Tough decision, but I already have a 2012 ASE so I will go with the Morgan. Love the history behind circulated Morgans.
