Man, ya gotta love this whole SMACKDOWN thingy, eh? ...

=> yah, if somebody ever happens to nominate one of my coins, I get all giddy inside!! (and it's funny, because there is absolutely zero cash reward, but it is an awesome feeling when you realize that somebody else thinks that one of your coins is kinda cool!) ...

=> by the way, I am absolutely amazed with some of your coin-deals!! ... obviously, the "hunt" is one of the major attractions for some of you coiners ... although everybody obviously loves getting a great deal, I am motivated primarily by the great coin, rather than the great deal ... I have little patience, so I seem fine with spending a few extra bucks so that I'll get "that one!" before anybody else even thinks about bidding! ...

... yes, I have zero-patience and I have huge respect for you dudes out there that can wait patiently in the reeds for the perfect shot ...

=> for I am definitely the cave-dude that hurls a handful rocks and then chases wildy after the very first animal that I see .... later in the evening, after dining on my delicious Rat-dinner, I notice that a few of you more patient dudes are dining on a delicious roast boar => well done and my hat is off to you and your patience!!

Dang - missed submissions again! I might have had a few runners in this one too as I like to keep my coins cheapish.

I even had a set of barbs I bought from the host that may have got me on the podium

Gold - echizentos set of 4, great value, shows what can be picked up if you shop about.

Silver - Eddops Carinus, silvered Carinus for $9.25!

Bronze - JWs Philip I, great looking coin and just $14!

Bidding closes in less than 1/2 hour. If you haven't bid, bid before 11 Eastern time.

Here are the results
AncientNoob Roman Republican denarius 23
echizento group of four also 23
Nothus Alexander AE 10

It could hardly be closer with a tie score at the top. Good competition! The group of four got more votes, but the Republican coin got more golds so
AncientNoob GOLD
echizento SILVER
Nothus BRONZE

Ancientnoob, Congratulations! You are the next host. I hope your theme inspires members to show us some interesting coins.

First, I would like to thank...
The Gods ...
My wife for letting me buy it...
The Antique dealer that did not ask questions as I pranced like Peter Pan out of his store upon receiving the coin for $20....
My fellow coin hunters both ancient and modern old and young alike
echizento- for a rock solid 4 piece combo and taking one on the chin like a champ...I thought I was beat.
and Finally Warren Augustus1 thank you thank you for making my dream come true.

I am also taking next smackdown suggestions.

Congrats Ancientnoob and Nothus. It was a close one, but it's not about winning it's about sharing our coins with others.

Wow, that was an absolutely amazing competition, with a photo-finish thrown-in for extra style points!!

A-noob => man, I got all teary-eyed when you were giving your acceptance speech ... it was deep, really deep ... *sniffle*

echizento => great runner-up performance ... maybe if A-noob is every double-booked, you can perform some of the duties and sub-in at any of the numerous gala-functions associated with being the SMACKDOWN champion?

... oh, and a very solid Bronze medal performnace, Nothus!!

=> yup, that SMACKDOWN-finish will be shown on the highlight-reels for many, many moons to come!!
