talkcoin, Maybe you already saw it but now the ship date is 1/20/13. I don't know if that is just for new orders or all orders.

Mine are still showing 12/30 as the ship dates.

Quote: Well, this 2012 proof set has changed ship dates about 6 times now Maybe they're having to take all of those "sold out" 2012-W Proof ASE's out of their individual blue boxes/capsules and re-package them in the Limited lenses.

I stopped by the Union Station US Mint kiosk on my lunch break today. I picked up two of the Coin and Currency sets. I figure in the worst case scenario where all 100,000 of the allowable mintage sells out, the 2012-S ASE Proof will still be one of the lowest mintages of the series. Very convenient how the Mint operates a kiosk at Union Station: you can avoid paying shipping fees and you have the chance to examine most types of coins for sale before you buy them:) The only drawback is that they are only permitted to sell products that do not have household ordering limits; so the selection is somewhat limited. Still, if you live or work in the DC area,it may be worth stopping by and checking it out.

$30 for packaging sure but the US mint has the best packaging around. Hey folks don't miss the CCF contest https://goccf.com/t/135086 And a chance to win an American Silver Eagle set of gifts including this garment:

To be fair, the government needs to bring in as much money as it can, even if its overpriced...I know i'd never buy it. Not a huge ASE fan.

Opening sales weren't too bad on this set, apparently some people are finding it collectible. 19,290 sold out of 50,000 mintage.

I'm taking a pass on this set. I plan to purchase three more of the Coin and Currency set instead (already bought two). I can't wait to see what the final mintage figure is for the San Francisco ASE set. I think the 2012-S ASE is destined to be a semi-key of the series. I think more and more people are realizing it, too; ergo, the spike in sales of the set this past week.

Quote: 19,290 sold out of 50,000 mintage. If they would just stop right there... I bought another M.A.H. C&C Set to give as a Christmas gift. Quote: Saw somewhere that about 10 percent of (2012 S.F. Set) orders were canceled putting the set mintage lower than the 06 Less 2012-S Proof ASE's sold in the S.F. Sets would be even better news for those with the M.A.H. C&C Sets!

They just charged my CC for the two sets I bough when issued. Looks like they will be in the mail soon. Funny thing is I completely forgot I ordered them, good thing I have more the $300 in my checking account or I would have been SOL.

I'll admit to the attractive packaging, but as the components could be assembled for nearly $30 less that's a premium to could go into 1 oz of Ag. If it had been $129.95 I might have sprung for a couple of sets. I'll keep an eye out for these and see how they do in the secondary market.
