That gash under the eye will require about 12 stitches to close.

Is chris12018 waiting to see if the stitches heal up without scarring?

I took her to a plastic surgeon, He couldn't help.

The gashes around the eye really do hurt the eye appeal. I have a MS62 that looks better. Thank You All for your opinions. I offered $175 for it & the seller counter offered $200. I think I will pass & return it.

Could go either way, PR or PL at least 62 or MS 62 at that price.

What's going on with the dark patch on her face? It reminds me of a cleaning but I'm probably wrong. Somebody please explain what I'm seeing. Thanks.

Thanks Chris,

The images look like the face has been scrubbed or whizzed. I sure it's just shadows. Thanks for clearing this up for me.
Rest in Peace

Wow, that gash under the eye can really disappear depending on the camera angle. It's too bad because it's a really well struck example, but I think you're doing the right thing by returning it. That gash would likely be the focal point every time you looked at it.

And if it bothers you, EVERY person who examines it will be bothered as well.

I would personally have graded the coin MS-63, but I'm not surprised by the 64. It's also pretty tough finding V-nicks with this much luster unless you want to spend a great deal of money. The seller's offer of 200 was actually pretty good considering the price jump form 63 to 64 and the fact that this was in a PCGS slab. Having seen several slabbed V-nicks, I bet this one also looked better in hand. The issues around the eye don't grab me as much as some others have said.

I am confused though, have you already bought the coin or just deciding on whether or not you should.

I bought the coin. But, I have 14 days to return it. In the original listing pics I couldn't see the marks around the eye.

OK, Here is the latest update; As you all know I have been in negotiations with the seller about the grade as well as price. I understand that at $200 I am still getting a good deal. But, at $185 I'm getting an even better deal. I put this coin at MS63.

PCGS price guide has this coin at;

$175 MS60
$240 MS63
$290 MS64

At worst scenario, I send it back to PCGS for a buy back. I guess it 's one of those win - win situations. I will be keeping this coin.

I want to Thank Everyone for their opinions and advice.
